Within the confines of this series I find myself journeying into the unpredictable landscape of memory. Each snapshot stands as an intimate testament to how a fleeting thought or dim recollection can inadvertently give birth to another, even when the connections seem evanescent. In this maze, repetition isn’t merely an echo of the past; it’s a haunting whisper, a melancholic rediscovery.
A mere shift in focus or a drifting gaze can evoke the sharp sting of original moments, wrapping one in a blanket of nostalgia. Yet, as these tangled threads of associations, dreams, and yesterdays unravel, they’re not just reflections of time gone by. Instead, they become a deeper contemplation of an ever-evolving self.
The pictures are captured using a diverse range of films and cameras. Most of them were taken in 2022-2023 in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region (Russia). The final frame, however, made in Berlin in 2011.
